"Friday Night Sew In."

Hello,

Happy Saturday.

Last night I joined in Friday Night Sew In hosted by Wendy. While watching the tennis I was able to decipher a crochet pattern I found on line and make a bookmark.

I plan to make a few more of these using up those little bits of crochet thread left over from previous projects. This one was made with a size 10 DMC cotton and a 1.5 mm hook.

I finished the crochet rug earlier on in the week. I finished the edge with a row of double crochet.

I wanted to use up as much of the wool as I could. This was all I had left, not bad at all. That is one less bag of supplies out of the sewing room. My plan is to attack the projects gradually.

How are you going with your projects this year. Do you have a definite plan on what you are working on? I would love to hear how you go about tackling projects and keeping motivated on the project you are working on.

Don't forget to check out the other participants who joined in Friday Night Sew In. There were 54 people creating items either for themselves or others.

Enjoy the weekend.

Happy days.
Bev C

Beautiful projects! How fun to keep the Friday Night Sew-In going. I need to set aside some time to catch up on my sewing projects. I have fabric cut and started to piece for 2 quilts, and the backing to finish for another quilt top. And always a growing list...

Your crochet is just beautiful Bev. When I first looked at that cross bookmark I thought how lovely it would look mounted inside a frame on a nice piece of scrapbooking paper or some old music papers.

Hi Bev. Pretty bookmark. I think we are all tackling UFO's at the moment. I got one out of the way last night and started on another. Enjoy your weekend. xx

Beautiful bookmark Bev.
I'm waiting for motivation to kick in to tackle anything at the moment ... too hot ... too dry etc but I did do some needle turn ... my interest in projects changes pretty quickly with many UFO's :o)

Lovely crotchet. With my projects I am trying to do each one for a hour then move onto another (not always the same day!!) and take each project in turn. It keeps me interested and motivated and less likely to give up and pack it away...well that's the plan I started this week or so and it seems to be working....xx

Lovely bookmark, Bev; it looks great! That's a lovely crocheted rug that you finished...lovely colours. I plan to try and finish some projects in the coming months. The reality is that I don't need to really purchase any new projects as I have many here u touched! :-/

What a sweet bookmark, such pretty crocheting, as is your blanket....'tis a lovely finish.
Is there anyone who only has one project on hand and starts another after it is finished?? If there is, I would love to meet them. As for me, I am a gal whose fingers seem to always have several projects on the go. I like the variety of several things happening at the same time. They all seem to get finished eventually, though they could take a while. =)

Such a great feeling isn't it when you finish a project - a lovely cheerful blanket! Love the sweet bookmark - I don't do cotton crochet but do appreciate the work that goes into it and admire the finished items!

That is a lovely book mark Bev, and the blanket is great too! I too have lots of projects on the go...this year I am making lists for each month and crossing off as I go...two foundation pieced blocks are in danger of not being done!!! Woops!! Maybe they will slide to the list for Feb!!Trying to do little bits each month.

Hi Bev, happy Sunday to you. I tried to learn to crochet but didnt get a chance to further into it. I wish I could be more consistent. You have the skill and the imagination.

Happy Australia Day!

Bev your rug and bookmark look fabulous. Crocheting is such a fun way to use up leftover wool and cottons.

Unfortunately I don't do that well with keeping up with or finishing projects. My life is so busy that sometimes I feel there is no time for sewing or other crafts. I go to retreats or sewing days with friends and that seems to be where I get most of my work done. Love your crochet blanket.

Hi, Bev,
The bookmark is a lovely design and you used a thread very similar in color to what I've used for several doilies for the farmhouse.
My project plan for 2016 is to really get to know exactly what is in my cache, in cupboards, boxes, cabinets, closets so i can choose projects just using what I have. I joined a quilting group that committed to doing 9 projects in the coming year from our unfinished or barely started stash. We had to number them by name and turn in a list. Each month a number is chosen at random and that is the project you need to finish by the next month's meeting. If you don't, you agree to donate a few dollars to the local quilts of valor fund. My goal is to finish all of them and contribute anyway at the end of the year. I hope to share these on my blog in the weeks to come.
How lovely you got to see Serena Williams. I think it's very important to promise yourself special things and then be sure to make them happen. Good for you!
Hope your summer is sweet. We're having a lovely snow globe snowstorm right now, flakes large and soft and fluffy, temperatures just below freezing. The perfect winter weather.

lovely crochet... as for tackling projects I don't think I do very well and as such always have a long list of not finished things ... but I go through them each year and start on them.... will try and finish one of them each month but I know I will start new ones too! When there are deadlines and committments I am far better with finishing
